About Lily Rose Photography

Lily Rose Photography is a husband-and-wife photography team based in Sonoma, serving weddings, engagements, proposals, and events throughout Napa Valley, Sonoma County, San Francisco, Carmel, Lake Tahoe, and beyond. Our work is rooted in honest storytelling, calm direction, and images that feel both polished and deeply personal.

We believe wedding photography should do more than show how a day looked. It should help you remember how it felt. That belief shapes how we work, how we guide, and how we move through a wedding day with care.

Meet Debbie

I am Debbie Labrot, owner and photographer at Lily Rose Photography. My studio was opened in 2006, and in the years since, I have photographed more than 750 weddings, along with many more portrait sessions and events. What has stayed constant through all of it is my love of people, emotion, and the moments that matter most.

I am often described as a calming presence on a wedding day, and that is one of the roles I value most. Weddings move quickly. Emotions run high. Family dynamics, timing, and logistics all meet in one place. I love helping people settle into the day, breathe, be present, and trust that the moments unfolding around them are worth remembering.

My background includes degrees in Business Management, Information Systems, and Photography, along with years of continued education through workshops, conventions, and professional organizations. But more than credentials, what matters most to me is creating photographs that feel lasting, emotional, and true to the people in them.

Meet Larry

I am Larry Labrot. Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My father, Sylvester Labrot, was a fine art photographer and artist, so I grew up around cameras, film, prints, and the visual language of photography long before I fully understood it. Over time, that environment became part of my own path.

While attending the University of Southern California, photography became more than an interest and more of a way of seeing. Later, while working as a teacher, I found ways to bring photography into the classroom and discovered just how powerful images could be in the lives of others. That sense of meaning has stayed with me ever since.

Together, Debbie and I have spent years photographing weddings and pushing each other creatively. I bring a strong visual foundation, a love of light, and a steady presence to the work. What matters most to me is creating images that feel real, thoughtful, and emotionally grounded.

What It’s Like to Work With Us

We photograph weddings as a team because it allows us to stay present to both the big picture and the quieter moments happening all around it. One of us may be focused on the emotional core of a moment while the other is watching for context, family reactions, or the details that complete the story.

Our approach is calm, collaborative, and intentional. We know when to step back and observe, and we know when to guide with clarity. We care deeply about making people feel comfortable in front of the camera, and we want the experience of being photographed to feel easier than you expected.

That balance of observation and direction is part of what defines our work. We want your images to feel natural, but never careless. Beautiful, but never forced. Personal, but still elevated.

Our Team

In addition to photographing weddings ourselves, we also work with a carefully chosen team of associate photographers who share our values, visual standards, and commitment to client care. Each team member is selected thoughtfully and trusted to represent Lily Rose Photography with the same level of professionalism, warmth, and consistency our clients expect.

If your wedding is photographed by one of our associates, you are still receiving the same overall experience, guidance, and care that defines our brand. We remain involved in the process and stand behind the work fully.

A Little More Personal

Outside of photography, family is everything to us. We are married, we are parents, and our lives are also full of dogs, laughter, history, and the kinds of small personal details that shape how we see the world. We bring all of that humanity with us into our work.

At the heart of it, we are romantics. We care about connection, about legacy, and about the moments that stay with people long after a wedding day is over. That is what keeps this work meaningful for us, and it is why we still feel honored to do it.

ABOUT MIA

Hello! I'm Lamia—though most call me Mia. Based in Sacramento, I'm a photographer passionate about uncovering life's beauty, one photo at a time. Outside of my photography world, I find joy in family moments, especially the playful and heartwarming times with my son that fill my days with laughter.

Interestingly, photography was only sometimes in my plans. After years as a medical assistant, I had a transformative encounter with someone who showed me the wonders of photography, opening my eyes to a new path. Since then, my life has blossomed into a journey of creativity and vibrant connections.
I'm an adventurer at heart, eager to explore thrilling experiences and endless sources of inspiration. When I'm not with loved ones, you might catch me with a book in hand, wrapped up in cozy blankets, lost in worlds of fantasy and romance. The tales of mythical creatures and enchanted lands fuel my imagination and find their way into my creative vision behind the lens.

Halloween holds a special place for me, and I celebrate its spirit year-round with unique decor and a hint of mystery in every corner of my home. My tattoos tell stories of my passions and dreams—symbols of the romantic and adventurous soul that shapes my life and art. A blend of dark curiosities and lush, living greenery brings my world to life, creating an indoor sanctuary that reflects my love for contrasts.

Animal lover is an understatement! My life is full of furry and scaly friends: Pickle, my senior Shih Tzu; Mochi, a French Bulldog with a big personality; Butters and Medusa, my Ball Pythons; and Citrine, a rescue Tortoiseshell cat. They complete my little zoo and bring me endless joy.

Each morning begins with coffee and a moment with my tarot cards—a ritual that connects me to my intuitive side and prepares me for the day's adventures. My favorite tarot, the lover's card, represents love, harmony, and the beauty of connection, something I always aim to capture through my work.

Let's create a moment together, weaving magic and wonder into every frame!

My interests in cars, golf, and football bring another dimension to my work. The artistry of a well-crafted vehicle, the precision of a golf swing, and the strategy in football all inspire me to focus on the fine details that make each image memorable. Like in sports or design, I believe capturing life’s nuances makes each story come to life.

Photography is about more than a perfect shot. It’s about preserving genuine emotions and memories you can hold onto forever. I aim to reflect each moment's laughter, joy, and closeness—whether it’s a family gathering, an intimate portrait, or the excitement of a life milestone. My goal is to create images that don’t simply fill your albums but bring a sense of nostalgia, evoking those cherished memories with each glance.

I’m driven by helping people see the beauty in the everyday moments that often go unnoticed. Life’s pace can be swift, but photography allows us to pause and capture the meaningful scenes that might otherwise pass by. Freezing those moments, even briefly, brings a little bit of magic back whenever you look at your photos.

As someone who values family deeply, I know how important it is to capture moments that seem small but mean so much. I strive to make my clients feel comfortable and genuinely seen, bringing out their personalities naturally. My commitment to quality and your satisfaction is a top priority, making sure every experience is one you’ll look back on fondly.

I’m a laid-back guy who loves working with people to create genuine, meaningful images. Whether it’s capturing family memories, documenting a special event, or simply celebrating life’s little joys, I’m here to help you create something lasting. Let’s make memories together that you’ll treasure for years to come!

BELLY UP TO THE BAR

Labrot and Graham's Woodford Reserve

Does the name look familiar? Yes, Leopold Labrot (Labrot & Graham) is Larry’s great-great-grandfather. Leopold Labrot grew up in the French wine country and was a wine merchant when he came to the United States in 1878. Is it a coincidence that we now work and photograph weddings in California’s famous wine country, Napa, and Sonoma?

Labrot and Graham Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon

The Labrot and Graham distillery holds the distinction of being one of the oldest and smallest working distilleries in Kentucky. Established near Glenn's Creek by Elijah Pepper around 1812, the present-day Woodford Reserve Distillery is built on history. This historic distillery is nestled amid the rolling hills of bluegrass and thoroughbred farms, formerly known as the Old Oscar Pepper Distillery and later the Labrot & Graham Distillery, is located between the towns of Versailles and Frankfort in north-central Kentucky. In 1995 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and in 2000 received National Historic Landmark distinction. Contract arrangements with Churchill Downs have declared Woodford Reserve "official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby" and is used in a pricey $1,000 mint julep cocktail that is sold on Derby Day.

Today the distillery is counted as the oldest of the nine bourbon distilleries currently in operation in Kentucky, even though the site lay idle for several periods during the past 237 years of its history. Founded by Elijah Pepper in 1780 and run by the Pepper family for almost 100 years, the distillery found a successor in Leopold Labrot, who with Graham brought the facility and the brand successfully into the 20th Century and eventually to Brown-Foreman.

A LITTLE ABOUT US

Did we actually meet at a bridal show? Yes, indeed, but there is a story to tell. Ask us about it, it is quite romantic and will make you say, ”Awe!”
